Whipsnade
Whipsnade [Whipsnade] BrE NAmE
a ↑zoo in southern England, north-west of London. When it opened in 1931 it was one of the first ↑zoos in the world to breed animals that were in danger of dying out, and to allow them to live freely in natural surroundings, rather than in cages.
