the Citizens Advice Bureau
the Citizens Advice Bureau [the Citizens Advice Bureau] BrE NAmE (abbrCAB) a British organization with offices in many towns to which people can go for free advice about the law, money problems, the government services available to help them, etc. The Citizens Advice Bureau is mostly paid for by local authorities. It started in 1939, when people needed information about the arrangements that had to be made during World War II.
